The second annual Harvest of Hope Festival will be held the last three days of CFCC's spring break.
The Harvest of Hope Festival is a three day, outdoor, all ages festival that features live music, art, film and other events.
It is held at the St. John County Fairgrounds in St. Augustine, Fla on March 12-14. It is also a fundraiser for the Harvest of Hope Foundation.
The Harvest of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization. It provides aid to migrant farm workers in the United States. According to their website, the Harvest of Hope Foundation provides healthcare assistance, scholarships, housing assistance and more to some poorly paid farm workers and their families.
Punk, indie, alternative, hip hop and blues artists are featured at the festival. Some of the bands playing at the Harvest of Hope Festival includes Anti-Flag, The Mountain Goats and Senses Fail.
While the festival raises funds for the Harvest of Hope Foundation, it creates more social awareness about the foundation. The festival also focuses on being environmentally friendly.
Those interested can sign up to be an environmental volunteer. Environmental volunteers get into the festival free, and receive a free meal during their shift as well.
Their job focuses on recycling during the festival. They pick up recyclable bottles and cans off of the ground, and collect other recyclables from vendors and attendees. Volunteer opportunities are available for those not interested in being an environmental volunteer as well. The Harvest of Hope Festival is looking for volunteers for a number of positions. Please visit www.harvestofhopefest.com/volunteer for more information.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased as a one day pass or as a three day pass. Advanced tickets are offered at a discounted price through March 11.
Festival attendees can also camp out on the fairgrounds during the festival. Attendees can purchase camping spots and camp for a night or for the entire weekend! Camping is not for everyone, so parking is offered for those that decide to stay at a hotel or just attend for a day.
There is also a VIP package available. The package includes a three day pass and a VIP camping pass. VIP guests also have access to different restrooms and parking.
The Harvest of Hope Festival offers three days of fun during spring break at a reasonable price. If you enjoy live music and an eclectic environment then you should definitely look into attending. To look into buying tickets, or to read about the festival visit www.harvestofhopefest.com.
