The decision regarding the name change of CFCC, due to the junior college's expansion to offer four- year degrees, has been reached.
Throughout the name change decision-making process, students, faculty and citizens of the community were encouraged to give suggestions at cf.edu (over 1,400 names were suggested).
The CFCC District Board of Trustees had the final say thus changing the name to College of Central Florida (CCF).
Student Activities Board President, Mikel James, seemed to be supportive of the final decision.
"It represents CF as what we're used to in saying Central Florida. Whether it's community or college we will embrace it. Either way we're still Central Florida, home of the patriots," said James.
The college will offer two four-year degree programs in the fall.
The two degree programs consists of:
Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Organizational Management (with the following concentrations)
Agribusiness management
Information Systems
Public Safety Administration
Health Care Management
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education- Pre K-Grade 3
The college has plans of increasing the amount of four-year degrees offered in the future.
