I am Ashton McLeod, 19, and this is my third semester on the Patriot Press staff. I began last spring as a first time staff writer, then returned as the arts/entertainment editor and now I am returning once again to the class as the co-editor-in-chief.
As an aspiring journalist and currently working in jobs related to my degree, the class is a way to exercise, practice and learn more about a field I am so interested in.
I plan on returning in the fall to complete my Associate and Arts degree and will be the co-editor-in-chief then as well.
Upon graduating CFCC, I intend on attending the University of Florida to further my education in journalism, photojournalism and international relations. I also plan on studying abroad through the Semester at Sea program through the University of Virginia. There I will take classes with transferable credits aboard a ship while visiting 11 countries around the world.
If all goes according to my agenda I will double major in journalism and international relations with a minor in photojournalism.
I have a lot of dreams and am happy to be started on my journey to achieving them!
